    1. \n
      Name:<\/h6>\n

      The name of the club is Carlow Triathlon Club. The clubs\u2019 colours are navy, blue, red, green and yellow. The club will be affiliated with Triathlon Ireland. All club members including committee members, coaches and volunteers shall register annually with Triathlon Ireland and will be subject to the rules and regulations of Triathlon Ireland.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n
      Objectives:<\/h6>\n

      The objective of the club shall be to encourage the practice and\u00a0development of triathlon in Carlow and surrounding areas.\u00a0<\/span>To provide coaching for club members and to organise and promote\u00a0<\/span>competitions.\u00a0<\/span>To organise teams to represent the club in triathlon and multiport\u00a0<\/span>events, national championships, international championships and in\u00a0<\/span>such other competitions as the committee shall decide.\u00a0<\/span>To provide a safe environment in which people can meet to train for\u00a0<\/span>and compete in triathlons, duathlons and other multi-sport events\u00a0<\/span>irrespective of age, ability and sex.\u00a0<\/span>To promote the club within the wider local community and the sport\u00a0<\/span>of triathlon.\u00a0<\/span>To provide all its services in a way that is fair and inclusive to all club\u00a0<\/span>members. <\/span>To ensure that all present and future members receive fair and equal\u00a0treatment.\u00a0To develop membership in the club.\u00a0To organise social events to benefit the club and its members.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n
      The club shall cater for:<\/h6>\n

      Triathlon, multi-sports involving the individual sports of running,\u00a0cycling and swimming (duathlon, aquathlons and other variations)\u00a0and the individual sports of running, cycling and swimming.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n
      Membership:<\/h6>\n

      Memberships will be open to all persons either amateur or\u00a0Professional.\u00a0<\/span>Members of Carlow triathlon club must be members of Triathlon\u00a0<\/span>Ireland, the national governing body for the sport of triathlon in\u00a0<\/span>Ireland. Failure to maintain a membership of Triathlon Ireland (under\u00a0<\/span>the membership policies of Triathlon Ireland) or the withdrawal of\u00a0<\/span>membership of Triathlon Ireland from a member of Carlow triathlon\u00a0<\/span>club automatically results in an immediate loss of membership of\u00a0<\/span>Carlow triathlon club.\u00a0<\/span>Participants in training sessions, club competitions and other club\u00a0<\/span>activities must be current members of Triathlon Ireland and Carlow\u00a0<\/span>triathlon club. <\/span>Guest participants may be involved in club sessions at the discretion\u00a0<\/span>of the committee however such guest participants must complete a\u00a0<\/span>guest sign-on sheet and can attend no more than three such sessions,\u00a0<\/span>at which time their attendance will discontinue unless they become a\u00a0<\/span>member of Triathlon Ireland.\u00a0<\/span>Each applicant for membership in Triathlon Ireland must complete the\u00a0<\/span>official online application form. An application for membership is\u00a0<\/span>valid for the calendar year for which it is signed e.g.; 1st January to 31st\u00a0<\/span>December 2023. Triathlon Ireland membership will expire on 31st\u00a0<\/span>December of the calendar year regardless of the date of application.\u00a0<\/span>To continue membership, members are required to renew their\u00a0<\/span>membership for each new calendar year before commencing their\u00a0<\/span>first club training session.\u00a0<\/span>Approved persons remain members of the club until such times as\u00a0<\/span>they tender resignation, fail to renew their membership, or the\u00a0<\/span>committee of Carlow triathlon club is empowered to withdraw\u00a0<\/span>membership from any member of Carlow triathlon club.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    5. \n
      Equality and Children\u2019s Rights:<\/h6>\n

      Carlow Triathlon Club shall carry out all functions in a manner that\u00a0promotes equality of opportunity between:
      Persons of different religious belief, political opinion, racial group,\u00a0age, marital status or sexual orientation.
      Men and women generally.
      Persons with a disability and persons without.
      Persons with dependants and persons without.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    6. \n
      Management:<\/h6>\n

      The management of the club shall be vested in a committee,\u00a0comprising members elected to the positions of Chairperson,\u00a0Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Women\u2019s officer, Child\u00a0and vulnerable adult protection officer, Safety officer, together with\u00a0additional members validly elected to the committee with or without\u00a0specific functions. The roles and responsibilities of each officer is\u00a0available on Triathlon Ireland website.\u00a0A functioning committee may be formed once each of the above\u00a0positions is filled by members validly elected to the position under its\u00a0constitution.\u00a0Any club member can declare their interest in a position whereupon\u00a0they must be proposed and seconded by two members of Carlow\u00a0triathlon club.\u00a0Where more than one person is nominated for a position, the person\u00a0deemed elected is the person who receives the most votes. Where\u00a0there is only one nomination for election, that person is deemed\u00a0elected if there is a simple majority of votes in favour of their election\u00a0over votes against their election.\u00a0The elected committee shall remain in office until the Annual General\u00a0Meeting the following year.\u00a0The committee shall have the power to fill vacancies if and when they\u00a0arise.\u00a0The committee shall meet at regular intervals as decided by the\u00a0Chairperson but not less frequently than once every three months.\u00a0Copies of the minutes of the committee meetings should be available\u00a0to members upon request from the Secretary.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    7. \n
      Annual General Meeting:<\/h6>\n

      The Annual General Meeting shall be held no later than 1st March for\u00a0the purpose of:
      Receiving the annual report of the committee for the preceding\u00a0season.
      Receiving the statement of accounts for the previous season.
      Electing the officers and committee for the ensuing year.
      Considering any amendments to the Constitution and Rules of the\u00a0Club of which due notice has been given to all members. Any\u00a0proposed change to the Constitution Rules by a member must be\u00a0received by the Chair or Secretary at least 14 days before the date of\u00a0the Annual General Meeting so that members shall have sufficient\u00a0notice of the proposal. At the discretion of the Chairperson,\u00a0amendments not submitted at least 14 days before the AGM may be
      proposed by any member present at the AGM and voted upon.\u00a0At least 28 days\u2019 notice shall be given to members of the date,\u00a0proposed venue and draft agenda items for the Annual General\u00a0Meeting. Notice of the final agenda, incorporating any proposed or\u00a0amended agenda item, proposed motions financial statements and a\u00a0confirmed venue for the AGM shall be given to members at least 48 hours before the proposed AGM and will be available in printed form\u00a0at the AGM. The accidental omission to give notice of an AGM to or\u00a0the non-receipt of notice by any member shall not invalidate the\u00a0proceedings at that meeting.
      Each fully signed up member present at the meeting shall have one\u00a0vote. No proxy votes will be accepted.
      All motions are proposed and voted on and committee members are\u00a0elected by simple majority. Voting will ordinarily be by a show of\u00a0hands (two ordinary members will be charged with counting hands)\u00a0except in the case where a member or group of members request a\u00a0secret ballot.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    8. \n
      Affiliations and Sponsorships<\/h6>\n

      The club shall be affiliated with Triathlon Ireland and to such other\u00a0sporting bodies as the Committee considers appropriate to carry out\u00a0the objects of the club.\u00a0The committee at their absolute discretion, may approve commercial
      sponsorship arrangements including the placement of commercial\u00a0logos on club equipment, clothing, racing kit, the club website, and\u00a0any other club collateral in return for financial or other support given\u00a0by sponsors to the club. Any agreements made in respect of the same\u00a0and signed by the Chairperson and Treasurer acting as agents for the\u00a0Committee shall be binding on the club.\u00a0Subscriptions\u00a0Subscription to Carlow Triathlon Club is by means of an annual\u00a0membership fee structure, the amount of which is to be proposed\u00a0annually by the Treasurer and carried by a majority vote at the AGM.\u00a0Where an annual membership fee is mandated by the AGM under this\u00a0constitution, failure to pay such a yearly fee within 60 days of\u00a0membership application\/renewal will result in the loss of membership
      of Carlow Triathlon Club.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    9. \n
      Resignations<\/h6>\n

      Any member wishing to resign must do so in writing, addressed to the\u00a0Chair or Secretary. The resignation will be considered by the\u00a0committee within one calendar month of receipt and will be held as\u00a0effective on the date of tendering. Resignations will not be accepted\u00a0if the member is financially indebted to the club, and acceptance will
      be withheld until the debt has been discharged.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    10. \n
      Extraordinary General Meetings<\/h6>\n

      An Extraordinary General Meeting shall be called by the Chair or\u00a0Secretary within one month of the requisition signed by at least 9\u00a0members stating the purpose of the meeting. At least 14 days\u2019 notice\u00a0shall be given to all fully signed up members of the date, venue and\u00a0purpose of and Extraordinary General Meeting. No other business\u00a0shall be conducted at such a meeting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    11. \n
      Constitution Amendments<\/h6>\n

      No Constitution rule may be altered, added to, or deleted except at an\u00a0Annual General Meeting or and Extraordinary General Meeting called\u00a0for that purpose and then only by a majority of those present and\u00a0voting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Financial Year:<\/h6>\n

      The club\u2019s financial year ends each December 31st.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    13. \n
      Quorum:<\/h6>\n

      For Committee meetings the Quorum shall be not less than four\u00a0members.
      For an Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary General Meeting, the\u00a0Quorum shall be not less than ten members.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Appendix:<\/h6>\n
